Rajah Island

Overview

Rajah Ayurveda was founded in 1996 by the Rajah group of Ayurvedic clinics to spread the natural healing science of life to people all over the world. There are now three centres run by Rajah Ayurveda in different locations — Rajah Healthy Acres, Rajah Island and Rajah Beach. The Rajah Island clinic stands on a private island in the backwaters. The waters around the island are home to hundreds of species of fish, prawns, crabs and molluscs.

Location of Rajah Island

Rajah Island, more than 80,000 m2 in extent, lies on the famous Kerala backwaters. A full-fledged Ayurvedic resort at the centre of the island provides the ideal atmosphere for treatment, rejuvenation and relaxation.

Services at Rajah Island

The Rajah Island clinic aims to provide comprehensive medical care to all parts of society through personalised attention from highly qualified specialists. On Rajah Island the concept of the Panchabhoothas is symbolised by the 10 treatment rooms. These form part of a treatment complex set apart from the guest cottages.

Besides Ayurveda, there is:

steam baths;
a dining hall;
an area for meditation / yoga;
a reading room;
a gym;
a jogging track through the park, and other features.

Rajah Island also has an outdoor pool with crystal-clear water. Guests may stay with children, for whom a playground has been built with everything needed for a comfortable time. After the initial consultation, the doctors of the Ayurvedic clinic will draw up a personal diet plan.

Accommodation

Rajah Island offers a wide choice of accommodation, from single rooms to waterside cottages. There are 35 cottages/rooms available, able to house up to 67 patients at a time. Guests can choose from Coconut Hut, River View, Lotus or Mangrove Grove.
