Overview

Somatheeram is the world’s first Ayurvedic village with the atmosphere of a resort. This award-winning Ayurvedic centre stands in a tropical garden on the ocean coast of South India. Location of Somatheeram

Somatheeram is on Chowara beach, Trivandrum (Kerala, India), on more than 15 acres of greenery on a hillside. The Ayurvedic hospital is 9 km south of the famous Kovalam beach. This sunny Kerala beach is certainly a superb setting for a quiet, peaceful holiday. Guests can enjoy the scenery and the sea breezes, get a good tan, walk and relax.

Services at the resort

Somatheeram invites guests from all over the world to take courses of traditional Ayurvedic therapy and to enter a world of calm and peace through the practice of yoga. Somatheeram is a unique Ayurvedic clinic set in a resort area, which alongside a holiday provides Ayurvedic treatments and various programmes for patients from around the world.

A holiday would not be complete without the necessary comforts, and that includes proper accommodation. Somatheeram offers guests luxurious rooms, all furnished with a touch of Kerala tradition. There is 24-hour service, a laundry, telephone and fax, and a number of other conveniences. There is also a restaurant of its own, where appetising vegetarian dishes are prepared for the resort’s guests.

• Extra bed: a 20% surcharge for one more person in a double room

• Surcharge for a specific room: 5% above the rate.

• Air conditioning surcharge: 1500 roubles per day

• Check-in: 14.00; check-out: 12:00

• Ayurvedic vegetarian meals: breakfast 514 roubles, lunch/dinner 955 roubles, or à la carte.

• Non-vegetarian meals: breakfast 587 roubles, lunch/dinner 1100 roubles, or à la carte.
